The Benefits of Therapeutic Equestrian Activities: The active participation required by riding a horse enhances motivation and allows individuals a chance to extend their dreams beyond the confines of their disability. Equine Assisted Therapy uses the medically acknowledged benefits of therapeutic equestrian activities to enhance the lives of people with disabilities. All participants benefit from the physical, social, emotional and cognitive aspects of riding, driving, or partnering with a horse.
Who We Serve: Some of the disabilities we serve include: Visual/hearing impairments, mental retardation, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injuries, emotional disabilities, learning disabilities, ADHD, ADD, developmental disabilities, cerebral palsy, downs syndrome, autism and spina bifida. Our Therapeutic Riding program is primarily geared towards pre-school and school aged children although we do take adults if we can safely meet their needs.
