Volunteering at Equine Assisted Therapy

Then we’ve got the PERFECT opportunity for YOU!!
Volunteers are needed to assist with lessons & horse care. All volunteers must attend regular training sessions, commit to a regular schedule for a set period of time, & .fit enough to physically do the job.
GETTING STARTED IS EASY!
Barn Volunteers help with the day-to-day responsibilities of caring for the program horses. This includes feeding, cleaning stalls, grooming, and helping to care for the facility and equipment.
Lesson Volunteers help when clients come to receive therapy. These positions include Horse Handlers, Side Walkers, and Instructor’s Assistants.
Bingo Volunteers lend a hand during our year-round fundraising bingo games every Wednesday and Saturday evening at 421 Columbus Road, Mt. Vernon, OH.
Requirements:
All volunteers must attend regular training sessions. Prior to attending a training session, please read the Volunteer Training Manual.
Lesson Volunteers must be at least 14 yrs. old while Barn Volunteers must be at least 10 yrs. old with adult supervision. Bingo Volunteers must be at least 18 yrs. old.
All volunteers must be able to commit to a regular schedule for a set period of time.
Lesson and Barn Volunteers must enjoy being outside, being around horses, and children, and be fit enough to physically do the job.
